Wallapop was founded in 2013. We are the marketplace for second-hand goods in Spain. With more than 8 million searches per day and over 15 million users across Spain with a catalogue of several hundreds of millions of products, we exist to empower people to promote a more conscious and human way of consumption. We achieve this by bringing together the scale and simplicity of classifieds with the convenience and the reach of marketplace to create the world’s best unique goods trading platform.

The role

Reporting directly into the Chief Product Officer, we’re seeking a visionary leader to elevate our product and brand through a user-centric, data-driven approach. You will be responsible for leading the high-performing product design and research teams, inspiring them through a powerful vision, breadth of experience, and deep user empathy to create a world-class holistic end-to-end user experience that drives impact aligned to our company goals, mission and purpose.


The day-to-day
  • Define together with the rest of leadership and the team the long term product strategy and in line with the latter, refine our shared design vision and user-centered, data-driven design strategy to support company objectives
  • Shaping and leading the product design and research team
  • Be the main driver behind innovation and discovery process
  • Create structure and instill process that optimizes the teams performance, visibility and impact, creating transparency across projects
  • Effectively develop and manage your team’s growth and performance, practicing radical candor and help carve a career framework that sets clear and high expectations to empower your team
  • Raise the bar on design quality (never satisfied with status quo), challenging your team to create innovative and impactful work.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering and marketing through a partnership model
  • Engage and maintain strong visibility within the design community, staying on the pulse of latest design trends, principles, and techniques.


Who you are
  • An inspirational servant leader and mentor
  • Experienced in establishing and driving a strong creative vision across both product design and research aligned to company objectives
  • Proven track record of building, developing, and scaling design teams that ship great experiences, understanding of best practices around recruiting, coaching, and motivating a team including inclusion and equity.
  • You are fluent in English and you have a decent understanding of Spanish


Our hiring process


Intro Call - ran by talent acquisition. This will take 30-45 minutes and will focus on giving you more information about the role and the company as well as going over your experience and expectations.

Product Understanding and Strategy Interview - with our Chief Product Officer (1 hour).

Core and Leadership Competency Interview - ran by talent acquisition and/or hiring manager. We will focus on gaining insights and understanding on how you operate in the workplace as well as your adherence to our core and leadership values.

Practical interview - ran by the hiring team. This will consist in a take-home case study to be presented by the candidate to our cross-functional interview panel (product management, product design, research)

Final interview with C-level suite. The focus will be on assessing your ability to apply your skillset to the wallapop context and therefore your understanding of it.

Offer - should you be the right candidate, your offer will be discussed over a call with talent acquisition and will then be confirmed in writing.
