Ever since Don Norman coined the phrase “User Experience” UX has been growing and developing fast. Before UX was UX, there were many people in the computing world involved in creating intuition in the way we interact with computers.
Do you think it was the technical user manual writer that paved the way for the modern UX writer?
I’m paraphrasing what Jared Spool says, but the importance of UX writing in today’s products is higher than ever, this is largely down to the sheer scale of new digital products. At N26 we take it very seriously.
The designer’s mindset solves problems. Always thinking “how can this user experience be improved?”
Listening skills, listening to the users and aligning to the team objectives.
Relationships matter, our UX writers will coordinate between the UX Team, PM’s, Engineers, Creative Studio and other Stakeholders. Building deep relationships is a critical part of the job.
Always learning, UX writing practices are developing rapidly, we like our writers to stay connected to what’s new.
