Multinational insurance company with a strong international presence. Currently undergoing technological transformation, focused on consolidating a modern data platform on Azure and Databricks.

We are looking for a Senior Data Platform/Cloud Engineer with experience in Azure to join an international technical team. The position is located in Madrid, under a hybrid model (one day per week in the office).

This role has a strong focus on the standardization, automation, and governance of cloud data platforms, working across other technical and business teams. You will report directly to the head of technology delivery from the head office in Amsterdam.

Main responsibilities:

• Actively participate in the design, construction, and automation of the data infrastructure in Azure.
• Configure and maintain Databricks environments, including Unity Catalog and governance policies.
• Develop data integration and orchestration pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, creating and maintaining modules from scratch.
• Implement monitoring solutions with tools such as Azure Monitor and Grafana.
• Collaborate with data, analytics, and business teams to align the platform with strategic objectives.
• Identify and apply opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.

Must-haves:

• Proven experience with Azure and its ecosystem (Data Lake Storage Gen2, Event Hubs, Key Vault, etc.)
• Proficiency in Databricks, including full configuration and Unity Catalog.
• High level of Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Experience in data pipeline automation with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience in implementing monitoring systems (Azure Monitor, Grafana).
• Knowledge of networking, virtualized environments, and connection to on-premise systems.
• High level of English (work in an international environment).
• Technical profile, autonomous, and with business vision.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate or other CDC tools.
• Experience connecting Oracle databases in cloud environments.
• Experience in cost optimization in cloud environments.
• Technical certifications in Azure or Terraform.
• Previous experience in legacy platform migration projects.
