Your mission is to inspire and lead engineers from product squads, nourishing them with new and interesting challenges while ensuring the quality of its technical deliverables. Technical leadership and people management is your daily basis.

As Engineer Manager
Work closely with the Product Manager on your team to drive team strategy and direction.
Work with other Engineers Leads across the department to improve our processes and systems.
Support, coach, mentor, and further develop your direct reports through continuous feedback, regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
Manage Strategically: You will track team performance metrics because as you know, what is not measured cannot be improved, and as a manager, this is your opportunity to give feedback and make decisions to ensure the alignment of the team with the agreed strategy.
Own the growth of the team: You will be the one identifying and making decisions on what profiles are needed to build a highly engaged distributed and diverse tech team, leading the recruitment and the onboarding.
As Tech Lead
Lead with your best practices: You will be a leader focused on educating, promoting, bringing & evangelizing about best practices, to help the team members to enjoy more and more of their daily work, feeling safe and experts, raising the quality of the execution and being proud of our deliveries and creations.
Your voice is important: With the CTO and the rest of the team, your voice will be a key opinion to decide on our technology architecture.
Become a reference: We will help you to become an external reference in the field, adding value to tech talent networks to attract the best people in our team.
As part of the team
Understand the operative: We believe in internal development and promotion, and also in the expertise that we have accumulated with the current team, for this reason, you will contribute to producing code and developing our core technology in 50% of the time during the first 3 months.
Lead by example: After this time you will know perfectly the current processes and architectures, and also you will be able to win the credibility of the team as an engineer and role model. Then you will work in this area 30% of the time.
Long story, short: How will be your first days in Streamloots?
First month: For the first few weeks we will make sure you know your impact on the team and the business, learning about the team, the business and processes. You will meet every contributor on your team and understand what their areas of expertise are. Little by little, you will begin to have one-on-one meetings with the CTO who will take care of your professional and personal development. An, also, you will be a participant in the meetings and processes that after you will lead, we don’t expect you to lead from the beginning, take your time to land your own conclusions.
First Quarter: within the first three months, you will start impacting by leading your own team. You will work with product and design to prioritize the roadmap and drive the iteration planning process, working with engineers, product manager and design. Work with engineers on your team to understand their short-term and long-term goals and help them with their career planning and progression. And engaging with your peer engineer leads around improving our engineering processes to help us operate more efficiently.
To the moon: After this process, you will become a role model, inspiring the rest in their development and helping them to achieve their career goals. Job requirements. You’ll be successful in your mission if:
3+ years managing at least one cross-functional, diverse team in an agile startup environment (4 to 8 engineers). We are going to face great challenges that will demand a lot of us, and we are searching for someone who walks the talk with a clear leadership mindset and organizational abilities. Interested in personal development, values and principles.
Experience working cross functionally to build prioritized roadmaps for your teams. Strategic thinking and ability to prioritize and plan iterative developments, avoiding over-engineering without impacting product quality and customer needs, and relying on business data and metrics to guide the workload.
Knowledge about good practices in development and its implementation, providing technical leadership to the team and working with engineers to help guide them into important technical decisions, and also making improvements in team structure, processes, and delivery.
Experience working with engineers of all levels and have coached them in their career development. Mentoring in an open, respectful, flexible, empathetic manner. Fostering a culture of mentoring across the team by seeking out mentoring opportunities for themselves and others, and supporting others in their growth.
Outstanding ability to communicate (verbal, written and presentation) up and down the organization, from individuals and departments leads to C-Suite.
Native or fluent English. In the product team, marketing and every day more areas are people who are English Native. Also, it would be helpful if you also know Spanish.
