Mission
The Senior Data scientist is responsible for analysing data and gathering insights around different business questions. Create machine learning models and products to optimize business processes and answer the needs.
Responsibilities:
- Participate / lead optimization projects to improve Operational decisions for different countries
- Act as contact between these countries and the central Analytics team
- Discuss and identify potential for data-driven improvements
- Contribute in Analytical development projects run from the central team
- Formulates new and creative ideas for leveraging the business’s vast collection of available data
- Participates in the production of whole process pipeline: domain understanding, data understanding, data preparation & feature extraction, modelling, model evaluation and model deployment
- Is involved and updated about software development process, tools and latest trends in machine learning
- Interprets and presents the results to both, technical and non-technical audience
- Consults and advises junior ML engineers
- Consults and advises junior Data Scientists
Requirements:
- More than 3 years of relevant experience (with continuously expanding responsibilities)
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience with R, Python, or equivalent technologies to perform complex statistical analyses on both internal and external data;
- High level understanding of applicable ML tools and methods in conjunction with high level understanding of DBMS, probability, linear algebra, data structures and statistical methods
- Very good understanding of bias and variance trade-off to avoid over/under fitting
- Clearly Understands models and their underlying assumptions in order to train, test and evaluate model performance
- Has knowledge of software development process, tools and latest trends in machine learning
- Fluent in English
